At HazMat 2, we recognize that in hazardous materials incidents, every second counts—especially when it comes to delivering medical care. That’s why our 2016 Ford Expedition Medic Unit plays a critical role in our specialized response operations under Act 165. Outfitted with advanced medical supplies and life-saving equipment, this unit is designed to bring Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) directly to the scene, ensuring patients receive urgent, high-level care without waiting for hospital transport.
This Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) unit is primarily dispatched to provide medical monitoring and treatment to HazMat team members first, then to any affected members of the public. Far more than just a response vehicle, our 2016 Ford Expedition is a fully equipped mobile medical unit, specifically designed to meet the complex demands of hazardous materials incidents.
Staffed by highly skilled volunteer paramedics, the unit delivers specialized care right at the scene. Each paramedic undergoes an additional 80 hours of specialized hazmat medical training on top of the standard two-year paramedic certification, ensuring they are exceptionally equipped to handle the complex and high-risk medical challenges inherent to hazardous materials incidents.
This specialized vehicle is a vital tool in our HazMat response operations, ensuring that we are always ready to provide swift, expert care when and where it’s needed most.
