At HazMat 2, we understand that in hazardous material incidents, time is of the essence, especially when it comes to providing medical care. That’s why our 2016 Ford Expedition Medic Unit is a key component of our specialized response efforts. Equipped with advanced medical supplies and life-saving equipment, this unit is designed to bring Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) directly to the scene of an emergency, ensuring that patients receive critical treatment immediately—no waiting for transport to the hospital.
Manned by highly trained volunteer paramedics, the 2016 Ford Expedition is not just an emergency vehicle—it's a fully-equipped mobile medical unit capable of providing the specialized care necessary in hazmat situations. Our paramedics undergo extensive training, with about 80 additional hours of specialized education on top of the two years required to become a certified paramedic. This ensures that our team is fully prepared to handle the unique medical challenges posed by hazardous materials.
The mission of the Medic Unit is to deliver immediate, advanced medical care, including the administration of antidotes, medications, and other life-saving treatments, right at the scene of a hazardous materials incident. By bringing these capabilities directly to the emergency, we minimize the time between exposure and treatment, drastically improving patient outcomes and enhancing overall response effectiveness.
This specialized vehicle is a vital tool in our HazMat response operations, ensuring that we are always ready to provide swift, expert care when and where it’s needed most.
