At Haz Mat 2, we are committed to continually advancing our emergency response capabilities. As part of our ongoing efforts, we have recognized that drones play a crucial role in enhancing our hazmat response, significantly improving the safety of both our personnel and the community we serve.

These cutting-edge tools enable us to swiftly assess hazards, remotely evaluate threats, and deliver vital intelligence to incident commanders, empowering them to make informed decisions and effectively guide our response.

The mission of the Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program is to provide aerial support to Haz Mat 2 personnel, in alignment with the Haz Mat 2 Environmental Fire Rescue Company’s objectives and requirements.

One of the most compelling advantages of using drones in hazmat situations is the enhanced safety they offer first responders. Drones can be deployed to assess hazardous environments without exposing personnel to unnecessary risks. Equipped with advanced technologies such as thermal imaging, gas detection sensors, and high-resolution cameras, drones can quickly identify the scope of contamination and potential danger zones, providing critical information that supports strategic planning and informed decision-making.

A Special Thanks to the Paul Davis Restoration Company, for providing us with an additional sUAS Drone increasing our flight squadron to three units owned by Haz Mat 2. Companies like Paul Davis Restoration help us continue our mission of serving the public with aerial surveillance of emergencies and helping find lost individuals. Anyone can request our Drone service by calling 717-999-7575 to contact our Duty Officer. This service is free for finding lost individuals.

All of our Pilots are FAA certified. Along with our three units we have access to eleven other privately owned units.
